Though I idolize Gordon Ramsay for his cooking and very high standards (and I am not completely biased at all :-), I believe this to be true. What I also believe to be true is that the kitchen unites us. Everyone can agree on good tasting food. Whether with family or friends, food can be great and it can be fun.

I have made some incredible great memories and build incredible relationships from sitting in a kitchen or a dining area. The dining area in college was where we students congregated and while the food wasn't so fun, we bonded. Happy hours, dinners, diners, restaurants, fine dining, office parties, potlucks, I am sure cooking is responsible for a lot of unification.

Culturally, Jamaicans are carefree and fun. We believe in living life to its fullest and bask in the glory of the moment. My dad used to always say, never worry about tomorrow because it is never promised.
